Day 1

Today was my first day on a vegan diet. Don't get all freaked out. The reason why I am doing this is because I want to feel better, have more energy, and yes, lose weight. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be on the first day. I actually liked all the food I ate and wanted more. It's really easy because the plan that I am doing gives you recipes and food choices. It makes the whole process less stressful when you don't have to search the Internet for a good recipe. The only down side I find is that the food suggestions don't coincide with the recipes they give you. You can't just buy all or some of the suggested food. You wont need any of them in the recipes. One thing I did learn today, all the food has to be made. There is no quick fix or easy snack food. Well, there might be. So, I starved all day today. I wasn't smart and planned ahead. For breakfast I had oatmeal with Apple Sauce, Banana's and Strawberries, It was really good. Though, I didn't eat again till about 5:30. If you decide to do this diet, learn from me and make all your meals ahead of time so you don't starve. Dinner was Mexican Tacos, beans, tomatoes, lettuce, onions. cilantro, on a corn tortilla. I was missing green onions because apparently not many grocery stores carry them. Oh well, tomorrow will be another promising day! :-)

Kanani. You are so beautiful. I hope you remember that. It is hard for me to remember sometimes and when I do it is easier for me to loose the weight.

I love that picture of you. :) I can give you recipes and I know of snacks and things that can be done ahead of time...

Are you doing the Mcdougall 12 day Challenge Kyle sent you?

Hey another thought - this is Kyle - Along with the food discipline with the diet, I found that an equal discipline with your water intake is just as valuable. I recommend getting a decent water filter and being diligent about drinking 8 full glasses every day. The system I used was I would have a full glass before every meal, a full glass after every meal, one in between breakfast and lunch, another between lunch and dinner, and maybe a little swig before bed. Also, DON'T EAT AFTER 9. If you feel the hunger urge come on drink some water. Water will help flush out all your systems and slough off excess toxins etc.

Sorry one more - part of this process is re-training your body "when" to crave food "how much" to crave, and "what kind" of food it should crave. You will most likely have an almost desperate sugar craving around days 4-6 and again periodically until your body realizes that it does not "need" it. At least in "that" form you crave it :)
